did you think i had retired? not yet, i’m just busy working on other people’s music because it pays better. but i have a lot of records left in me. this one was recorded last year and finally mixed in december. it’s sorta full circle for me…

some folks talk about how they grew up with their parents playing mozart or miles davis records around the house and then that led them to the path of becoming a musical genius.

well i grew up with billy joel tape cassettes and records and music videos and that led me on a path of not becoming a musical genius.

but, i became really good at age 7 at lip synching and dressing up like a rock star, and honestly that’s about 99% of the music business. fake it til ya make it.

so now as i start my final descent away from the public side of the music business, it was very important to go back to my roots and destroy a handful of billy joel cuts.

i’m armed with a very capable group of musicians who deserve just as much credit as me. we love billy joel songs…. in fact, all of the musicians on this album would blast billy joel songs in the tour van after we’d get done with a pigwar show…. much to the chagrin of our sugar daddy.

but as much as we love billy joel songs, we love fucking them up even more.

this record is dedicated to my parents and sister for all the millions of time we rocked out billy tunes. also dedicated to everyone else in the world who needs love.
